English in action – Buying tickets
1. Watch or listen, read and circle.
- The boy is with his family / friends.
- He’s going to watch a play / visit a fort.
Dialogue:
Man: Hello, can I help you?
Boy: Can I have four tickets, please?
Man: Adults or children?
Boy: My dad, my two sisters and me … so one adult and three children, please.
Man: OK. That’s 19 rials. Would you like to have a guide?
Boy: I don’t know. How much is a guide?
Man: It’s ten rials for a guide. They’ll give you a lot of information about the fort, and about its history, too.
Boy: OK, then. Yes, please. I want to find out about the fort.
Man: Great. So that’s 29 rials in total.
Boy: Alright. Here you are.
Man: Thanks. Here are your tickets. Enjoy the fort!
Boy: Thank you!
Prices shown in the picture:
- Adult: 7 OMR
- Child: 4 OMR
